The Emir of Lafia has promised to find a lasting solution to NSUK ASUU strike

Delegation of Nigerian Students led by Comr. Umar Yusuf, NANS DTE and Comr. Hamza Ahmed, President NASSA (National Body) on thursday, 12 May, 2016 presented their report to HRH, Alh. (Dr) Mustapha Agwai I, chairman, traditional council of chiefs in Nasarawa state.

It would be recall that in the bid to find lasting solution to the lingering industrial crisis rocking our only state owed university Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) the student leaders commence a fact finding mission, visiting every party involved.
***
Receiving the report for the council's prompt intervention, the royal father however urged all students to still remain calm and law abiding, promising that in one week time the school will be re-open.
***
“I will commence talk immediately with all the concerned parties; ASUU, Governing Council School Management and the State Government,” he stated.
***
However, ASUU insist that the Al-Makura-led administration must accept and implement all the key demands before the strike can be called off.
***
Furthermore, the lecturers maintained that their students just like politicians children whom they fly abroad for education at the expense of the general public deserve same opportunity to quality education.
***
They repeatedly lament why a state owed tertiary institution like NSUK be dumped in the hands of Federal Government to develop through intervention projects.
***
NANS is therefore soliciting for the intervention of our royal fathers for both side to shift ground in the overall benefits of our children and the state at large.
